"Playtime" -- Jacques Tati (as well as his 'Mon Oncle' and everything else he has done)
"8½" -- Federico Fellini
"Life of Brian" -- Monty Python (and naturally everything they have done)
"The Apartment" - Billy Wilder (and a bunch of his other films)
"Citizen Kane" - Orson Welles (and a bunch of of other of his films)
"Bicycle Thieves" - Vittorio De Sica
"The Third Man" - Carol Reed
"L'Avventura" -- Michelangelo Antonioni
'Le Samourai' -- Jean-Pierre Melville
And a bunch of others by Sidney Lumet, Hal Ashby, John Cassavettes, Akira Kurosawa, Yasujirō Ozu, Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch and many more that I have lied about watching.
